By Uganda Today News Desk
In the early hours of May 3, 2025, Uganda was shaken by the tragic news of the passing of Rajiv Ruparelia, the dynamic Managing Director of the Ruparelia Group and son of esteemed businessman Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia. At just 35 years old, Rajiv’s life was abruptly ended in a devastating car accident at the Busabala Flyover in Makindye-Ssabagabo, Wakiso District.
A Legacy of Innovation and Leadership
Born on January 2, 1990, Rajiv was more than an heir to a business empire; he was a trailblazer who infused new energy into Uganda’s corporate landscape. After completing his education at Dean Close School and Regent’s University London, he returned home to join the family business in 2013. By 2017, he had ascended to the role of Managing Director, steering the Ruparelia Group into new ventures and modernizing its operations across sectors such as real estate, education, hospitality, and agriculture.
Under his stewardship, the Group expanded its footprint, launching initiatives like Premier Recruitment Ltd, which provided employment opportunities to thousands of Ugandans, and spearheading the development of the Speke Resort Convention Centre, positioning Uganda as a hub for international conferences.
