The Just concluded NRM internal elections for its candidates to represent the ruling party in the 2026 upcoming elections, saw over 10 Museveni ministers kissing the unenviable dust of defeat. In the same breath, the home boy,  over 20 years long term member of parliament representing Lwemiyaga  Theodore Ssekikubo, is crying foul that he was outrightly cheated.

The NRM electoral commssion declared Ssekikubo’s arch rival  Brigadier Rwashande as the winner while Ssekikubo came second. It should be noted with concern that, Ssekikubo’s constituency is known for valotile campaigns full of violence and most often resulting in deaths of supporters of either beligerent sides.

The most recent being the death of Ssembuusi killed the soldiers of Brigadier Rwashande during the heat of campaigns.

Ssekikubo who most often than not has been largely aloof of violence pron campaigns that have always delivered victory in his favour, has sternly warned the president that if he doesn’t withdraw the army from political campaigns and elections in general, his very army will oust him just as they have done to him (Ssekikubo).
