A Ugandan woman of charisma and valour
Mrs. Josephine Nambooze (Kkobe clan).

She was the first female doctor, not only in Uganda but in the whole of East and Central Africa.

In 2010, Prof. Nambooze was among the 10 most outstanding female professors that were honoured by Makerere University.

She was also the first female student at Makerere medical school mid 1950s. Josephine was the first female professor in Africa.
