As Commissioner of Police (CP) Alison Agaba retires from the Uganda Police Force, she does so with her head held high and her legacy firmly secured in the annals of Uganda’s law enforcement history. A career spanning decades, marked by dedication, resilience, and grace under pressure, has come to a close—but her influence will endure for years to come.

Throughout her remarkable journey, CP Agaba epitomized what it means to serve with honor and purpose. She served not only as an officer of the law but as a symbol of calm leadership in times of turmoil.

A Trail of Distinguished Service

From her early days at Masindi Police Training School and Kibuli Police Training School, CP Agaba demonstrated a passion for shaping the next generation of police officers. Her subsequent assignments took her across the country, with deployments to stations in Masaka, Old Kampala, Kalisizo, Kyotera, Lyantonde, Lwakhakha, Kabale, Sembabule, Mbarara, and Wakiso, among others. Each post brought with it unique challenges, but she consistently rose to the occasion.

Her leadership was also felt at the regional level in the East Kyoga Region and within the Kampala Metropolitan East command, where she contributed significantly to operational stability and community trust.

Notably, CP Agaba extended her service beyond Uganda’s borders through a peacekeeping mission in South Sudan—a testament to her commitment to peace on a global scale. She capped her illustrious career with a prestigious role at Interpol, where she served as an international police officer before formally retiring.

A Calm Force in the Storm

Across all her postings, CP Agaba became known for her unshakeable composure, even in the most difficult situations. Her colleagues remember her not only for her tactical acumen but also for the quiet strength she brought to every scenario.

“She is one of those rare officers who would never disappoint,” said a fellow officer. “Even in the worst of situations, she could still afford a smile—and that smile carried hope.”

Her signature approach—firm yet empathetic, disciplined yet compassionate—set a powerful example for peers and subordinates alike. She believed deeply in the mission of policing not just as enforcement, but as a tool for restoring dignity, community trust, and lasting peace.

The Legacy She Leaves Behind

Perhaps CP Agaba’s greatest gift to the Force is a simple, enduring message that came to define her service:
“Commitment is the master key that opens the gate of peace.”

This guiding principle not only shaped her career but continues to inspire those she leaves behind. As she steps into retirement, she does so with the admiration of a grateful nation and the affection of a Force better for having had her in its ranks.

Though her official duty may have ended, CP Alison Agaba remains a towering figure in the Uganda Police Force—an officer whose legacy of peace and professionalism will guide future generations.

We salute you, CP Alison Agaba. Thank you for unlocking peace.
