KAMPALA — Young Ugandan scholar and author Israel Y.K. Lubogo has been recognised with the SMEGAfrica Excellence Award for Rising Star of Africa, in recognition of his emerging contribution to scholarship, leadership and intellectual development.
The award was presented during the 2nd Annual Conference and SMEGAfrica Excellence Awards in Nairobi, Kenya, where African achievers and emerging leaders were celebrated for their contributions to the continent.
According to the award announcement, Lubogo’s recognition places emphasis on the potential of young Africans whose academic, literary and leadership work is contributing to the continent’s intellectual future.
Award Received On Behalf Of Lubogo
Because Lubogo was not present to receive the award personally, the accolade was received on his behalf by Mr. Kato, identified in the accompanying award material as the outgoing Head Prefect of King’s College Budo.
