Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 28-year-old woman, Shadia Nansamba, who allegedly died following a domestic altercation with her boyfriend.

Fatal Incident After Return from Kyeyo

According to information available, Nansamba had returned to Uganda in November last year after working abroad under kyeyo. Following her return, she had reportedly been staying with her boyfriend, identified as Ssekamatte Moses, in Kampala.

Sources indicate that while abroad, Nansamba regularly sent her earnings to Moses, a detail that has since become central to the unfolding investigation.

Upon her return, Nansamba is said to have demanded accountability regarding how her money had been used. It is alleged that she later discovered Moses owned a supermarket and a salon in Bunamwaya, raising suspicions that her remittances may have funded the businesses.

The revelation reportedly triggered tension between the couple, with acquaintances suggesting that financial disagreements soon emerged.

Altercation and Hospital Rush

Witness accounts suggest that the dispute intensified when Nansamba insisted on visiting the Bunamwaya businesses. The disagreement allegedly escalated into a violent confrontation, leaving Nansamba unconscious.

She was subsequently rushed to Mulago National Referral Hospital for medical attention but was pronounced dead on arrival, according to sources familiar with the incident.

By the time of reporting, authorities had not released an official statement detailing the exact cause of death. However, Moses is reportedly being treated as the main suspect as investigations continue.

The incident has once again drawn attention to domestic conflicts and financial disputes within relationships, particularly those involving returning migrant workers.
