Buganda Masaza Cup: Historic Victory for Buweekula as New

In a thrilling finale at the Hamz Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium, Buweekula emerged as the champions of the 2025 Buganda Masaza Cup, securing a narrow 1-0 victory over Singo in a fiercely contested match. The only goal of the final came in the first half, courtesy of a brilliant strike by Talemwa, sending Buweekula to their first-ever title in the tournament’s history.

The final match, which was attended by His Majesty Ssaabasajja Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi, was the culmination of  months-long journey for the 18 participating Masazas of Buganda. Kabaka Mutebi, who has been a constant supporter of the competition, presided over the event, handing the coveted trophy to the jubilant Buweekula team as their supporters erupted in chants of triumph.

Despite having reached the final on three previous occasions, this victory marked Buweekula’s first time lifting the Masaza Cup, solidifying their place in Buganda football history. The team’s impressive performance was a culmination of years of hard work and determination, and their victory was met with loud celebrations as the fans gathered to honor their team’s achievement.

Third-Place Match: Kyaggwe Defeats Bugerere

Before the main final, Kyaggwe and Bugerere battled it out in the third-place qualification match. Kyaggwe emerged victorious, taking the third-place slot after a hard-fought contest. This match served as a fitting warm-up to the highly anticipated final.
