UgandaToday: +256 778 720 720 ClimateHub International Rolls Out High-Impact Climate Change and Carbon Literacy Training

Kampala, Uganda — As climate change continues to pose an existential threat to economies, ecosystems and livelihoods across Africa, ClimateHub International, in partnership with the Carbon Literacy Project, has announced a specialized training aimed at equipping individuals and organizations with practical knowledge on climate change mitigation and carbon emissions control.

Scheduled for 11th and 12th March 2026, the training targets professionals, policymakers, civil society actors, private sector players, development practitioners and sustainability champions seeking to integrate climate-smart practices into decision-making, operations and long-term planning.

The programme, themed “Effective Climate Change Education for Everyone”, is designed to demystify climate science while translating global sustainability goals into actionable, locally relevant strategies.

Bridging Knowledge Gaps on Carbon Emissions

At the core of the training is carbon literacy—a growing global competency that empowers participants to understand, measure and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Empowering Institutions for a Sustainable Future

With climate risks escalating across agriculture, energy, infrastructure and public health, the training positions itself as a timely intervention for institutions seeking to align with global climate commitments while maintaining operational resilience.

Understanding carbon emissions is key to building resilient, low-carbon cities and institutions.

The programme emphasizes:

  • Evidence-based climate decision-making

  • Embedding sustainability into corporate and institutional culture

  • Building internal capacity to respond to climate risks and opportunities

Participants will also gain exposure to best practices from global carbon literacy frameworks adapted to the African context.
