Uganda Today Edition: Young Woman Dies After Night Out at Kololo Mezo Noir

Kololo, Kampala — March 20, 2025

Tragedy struck early Thursday morning when a young woman, identified as 23-year-old Martha Ahumuza Murari, was pronounced dead after collapsing at Mezo Noir, a popular hangout spot in Kololo.

Martha, who recently graduated from the International University of Business Science and Technology (ISBAT), was out with her friend, Mugabo Edward, a cashier at the lounge. According to reports, the two enjoyed drinks into the early hours of the morning.

At approximately 3:30 am, they proceeded to the manager’s office, which is not connected to the establishment’s CCTV camera network. It was there that Martha suddenly collapsed.

Born on February 13, 2002,  to Colonel sam Murari an army officer and Presidential advisor on sports, Martha was described by friends and family as a bright, ambitious young woman with a promising future. Her sudden death has left many in shock and mourning.

Authorities have launched an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding her death. Police are expected to review available CCTV footage from other parts of the venue and gather statements from those involved.

Martha’s family has requested privacy as they process this devastating loss. She is destined to be buried this Sunday 23, in Mbarara.
