Will Jennifer Musisi Head The Fishermen Cabinet?

Uganda Today: The iron sheets scandal could be a blessing in disguise to some individuals.

Since non of them has tendered in a resignation even those ministers with the most outrageous usage application to the ill gotten iron sheets, most of the ministers involved will not return in the impending cabinet reshuffle.

Speculation is rife that Jennifer Ssemakula Musisi has been pin pointed to take over the post of  Premiership.

Jennifer Semakula Musisi is a lawyer and public administrator. She is the first City Leader in Residence at Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative at the Ash Center of Harvard Kennedy School, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. She was appointed to this position in January 2019.

She served as the first Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA). She was appointed to that position in April 2011 by the President of Uganda, following the creation of the new institution that replaced Kampala City Council. She assumed office on 15 April 2011. On 27 February 2014, the President of Uganda re-appointed her for another three-year term, effective 14 April 2014. Her contract was renewed in April 2017, to run from 15 April 2017 until 14 April 2020. However, on 15 October 2018, she tendered her resignation as KCCA Executive Director, effective 15 December 2018.

During her first term, president Museveni praised her as a stellar performer and made a statement to the effect that “if I had 2000 Jennifer Musisi in the country, Uganda would be different”.

At one time, Musisi leading KCCA staff turned herself into a band leader and performed a concert of some sort to entertain the president. The president’s face grinned with incessant smiles akin to the ones his face registered when Anite knelt before NRM members beseeching them to let Museveni sail through for NRM flagship for presidency unopposed!

No wonder since then Anite has maintained her slot on the cabinet cohort.
