Uganda’s Sheila Kyarisiima Catches Ruto’s Eye

Kenya’s President William Somoei Ruto, appointed Ugandan Sheila Kyarisiima as a board member on a 12 member Kenya Investment Council board.

The team’s task is to advise government on ways to increase investment and economic growth in Kenya and as well promote cooperation between public and private sector in formulation and implementation of government policies relating to investment and economic investment.

Other Council Members are:

Kenya Commercial Bank Chief Executive Officer Paul Russo, M-Pesa’s Africa Managing Director Sitoyo Lopokoiyit, Twiga Ford Chief Executive Officer Peter Njonjo, tycoon Humphrey Kairuiki, Ahmed Farah, Karen Taylor, Sarah Ochieng, Eva Warigia, David Langat, Tom Mulwa and Francis Njogu.

The council members will serve for a period of three years that started November 30, 2022.

About Sheila Kyarisiima

She’s a partner at NISK Capital Boutique, a corporate finance and transaction advisory firm covering the East African market. In this trade, she has superintended successful fundraising of close to $1b for several clients including Blue Chip firms and rapidly growing SMES in the markets of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and DRC in different sectors.

She also sits on the board of Mayfair- CIB Bank and she chairs the board of credit and board audit committees

She holds MBA from Havard  Business School, holds MPA-ID from Havard  Kennedy School and a bachelor of science in civil engineering from Brown University. She has worked at Goldman Rwanda as an analyst and advisor.
