Stella Nyanzi, the exiled Makerere University doctor and a renowned Ugandan opposition activist, who in the past has experienced several police brawls culminating into incarceration, has vowed to expose the brutality of Ugandan police while dealing with peaceful women protesters.
“I am writing a paper about how Uganda police officers arrest peaceful women protesters and I found this photo by Alex Esagala of a police woman literally choking me as I held onto my little drum that accompanies my protest chants with a steady drum-beat. Who trains these police women to be brutes? See how she chokes me!! See how her colleague merely looks on.!
