Uganda as a country is abundantly blessed with lots of tourist attractions much of which can hardly be found in any other country. There is massive tourism wealth in different tourism sites that have not yet been fully utilized.

The existence of these tourist places with all that is there to offer to the visitors when they visit is the reason why Uganda is still the best tourism destination for a safari in Africa. Some of the notable places worth mentioning are:

Ngamba Island Chimpanzee sanctuary

Ngamba is also in Lake Victoria and it’s the only chimps’ sanctuary established1998 to act as a home for so many orphaned chimpanzees. Most of these have been rescued from poachers. You can participate in feeding them during which you get the chance to be really close to the chimpanzees which makes the trip worthwhile.

Murchison Falls National Park

This is Uganda’s biggest park, the most popular and most sought destination in Uganda. It is beautiful park within which you find the beautiful Murchison Falls along the Victoria Nile and these falls are simply amazing when you watch the water thrust down about 43 and it’s pushing through narrow gaps of about 7 meter. Once it s hits the rocks, it splash out therefore leading to a humid environment.

This park is mainly blessed with lots of wildlife, game viewing is often done and you can find thousands of giraffes, buffaloes, lions, large schools of hippopotamus, huge herds of elephant, lots of lions, so many buffaloes by the water areas, antelopes, Nile crocodiles, shoe bill-stork may also be seen occasionally, water buck, the Uganda Kobs are many, may be lucky enough and see the leopard, among so many other wild animals.

Queen Elizabeth National Park

Queen Elizabeth offer variety to the animals lovers. This park is covered with the savannah vegetation, it’s a home to more than 95 mammals and 612 bird species. While in the park, you can clearly see the Rwenzori Mountain ranges and expect to see the buffaloes, so many elephants, lions especially in the ishasha sector where there are tree climbing lions, antelopes and many more. You can see the rift valley escarpments which is beautiful scenery.

There is the Equator line going through the park and lakes George and Edward connected by the Kazinga channel where boat rides are done.

Bwindi Impenetrable forest

This is a home to half of the whole world’s mountain gorillas. This is an endangered species and also very amazing to watch. The habituated gorillas re accessed by the tourists and the researchers with the help of a park ranger. While tracking for the gorillas in the jungle, you will find lots of birds because this park is a home to over 300 species of birds, there are more than over 200 species of butterflies and more than 200 species of trees it a great destination

The Source of the Nile in Jinja

This is the source of River Nile which is the longest river in the whole world. While it failed as an industrious town, it is thriving a tourists’ destination with great places like the source of the Nile, the popular Bujagali falls and the Kalagala falls as well as the Sezibwa falls, among other beautiful sites. You can do some Bungee jumping, go game fishing and also white water rafting.

Mount Elgon National Park

The Elgon is surrounded by dense forests and within the forest, you can a wide range of wildlife as well as so many bird species therefore offers a huge opportunity for the bird-watchers to see lots of birds. For the hikers, mountain climbing will be fun. You can also visit the Sipi falls on the other side of the mountain.

Ssese Islands

Ssese is the most prominent of all the Lake Victoria’s Islands. This island is blessed with a very cool temperature and it is visiting this place is the only chance you have to ever see the white San beaches while staying in Uganda. To reach the island, you have to use that ferry via Entebbe or Bukakata. The major activities include guided forest walks and bird watching.
