Ibanda Town was abuzz this Christmas as Mrs. Lucy Nakyobe Mbonye, Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet, officially unveiled AK Resort, a luxurious four-star hotel built in honor of her late husband, Dr. Anthony Mbonye. The multi-billion-shilling project marks a significant milestone in fulfilling Dr. Mbonye’s vision of creating a world-class hospitality establishment in the heart of Western Uganda.

The hotel, named AK Resort, opened its doors to the public during the festive season, drawing crowds eager to experience its high-quality services. In an exclusive interview, a family source shared that Mrs. Nakyobe dedicated the project to her late husband’s legacy and the community of Ibanda. “Dr. Mbonye envisioned a place where people could enjoy exceptional service in a serene environment. Mrs. Nakyobe has turned that vision into reality,” the source said.
