Tragedy befell a yet to be identified Ugandan family when a young woman aged only 23 years committed suicide by jumping to her instant death from 6th floor of a building from United Arab Emirates (UAE) building.
According to scanty information available, Monic had gone to Dubai to do odd jobs (kyeyo) just like many other Ugandans have done. It isn’t yet known why Monica decided to take her life. However, it is apparent that because of the inhuman ways these girls are treated by their Arab bosses which include but not limited to torture, sexual molestation and starvation, many African domestic worker girls have been driven into a state of depression and distress resulting in acts of this nature.
