Born in 1984 in Kalungu, Masaka District, Kiggundu is the son of property investor Haruna Ssegawa. He attended Kabojja International School for his secondary education and later graduated from Makerere University with a degree in Law. Over the years, he has established himself as one of Uganda’s most influential entrepreneurs, leading the Ham Group of Companies and authoring two books — “Success and Failure Based on Reason and Reality” and “Reason as the World Masterpiece.”

In May 2025, Kiggundu was listed among Uganda’s wealthiest individuals, with a reported net worth of $601.9 million, further cementing his place as a business powerhouse.

The release of “Ham Kiggundu” has stirred conversations within the music industry. Nyanzi Martin Luther, owner of Block FM, used the premiere to stress the importance of strong copyright laws to protect artists’ work. Similarly, Eddy Kenzo, President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation, emphasized the need for fair compensation and recognition of artists’ intellectual property rights.

Mayinja’s composition is seen not just as praise for Ham’s business success, but also as a broader reflection of Uganda’s evolving music industry, where collaborations between entrepreneurs and artists are shaping new cultural narratives.

The premiere marks a significant cultural moment, celebrating visionary leadership, entrepreneurship, and artistic creativity in Uganda.
