KAMPALA, Uganda – July 22, 2026: Uganda’s growing reputation as one of East Africa’s most attractive investment destinations received another boost on Wednesday as a high-powered Turkish trade delegation held business-to-business (B2B) meetings with Ugandan entrepreneurs in Kampala, seeking long-term commercial partnerships across several sectors.

The trade mission, organised by the Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) with support from the Republic of Türkiye’s Ministry of Trade, brought together leading Turkish manufacturers and exporters looking to establish distributorships, agency agreements and investment partnerships with Ugandan businesses.

Representing diverse sectors ranging from baby care products, pharmaceuticals, automotive components and furniture to industrial machinery and food processing technologies, the delegation showcased Türkiye’s expanding manufacturing capabilities while positioning Uganda as a strategic gateway to the East African market.

Strengthening Uganda–Türkiye Trade Relations

Officials from the Türkiye Exporters Assembly said the mission forms part of a broader strategy to expand Turkish exports into Africa by fostering direct engagement between Turkish manufacturers and local importers, wholesalers, retailers and investors.

The Kampala meetings provided a platform for Ugandan companies to explore partnerships that could facilitate technology transfer, improve product availability and create new opportunities for bilateral trade.

With Uganda’s strategic location, improving infrastructure and membership in the East African Community (EAC), Turkish exporters view the country as an ideal hub for accessing regional markets.

BEBEHUM Draws Strong Interest

Among the companies attracting considerable attention was BEBEHUM, a Turkish manufacturer specialising in premium baby care products.

Bebegen, the manufacturers of Bebehum intact milk and infant’s textiles, meeting prospective Ugandan customers at Turkish Trade Delegation held at Sheraton Kampala July 22, 2926.

The company showcased a wide range of products including baby cotton fabric textiles, Bebehum milk, pacifiers, breast pumps, feeding accessories, baby care essentials and maternity products designed to meet international quality and safety standards.

Company representative Mr. Omer Gurler said they are seeking Ugandan distributors capable of introducing their products into pharmacies, supermarkets, baby shops, hospitals and maternal healthcare facilities across the country.

With Uganda recording one of Africa’s youngest and fastest-growing populations, BEBEHUM believes the country’s expanding demand for quality maternal and infant care products presents significant business opportunities.

Diverse Turkish Firms Seek Local Partners

Several other Turkish companies also presented their products and services during the Kampala trade mission.

Maye Automotive promoted automotive spare parts and components aimed at serving Uganda’s growing transport and logistics industry.

Sina Pharmacy showcased pharmaceutical products and healthcare solutions while exploring partnerships with hospitals, pharmacies, medical distributors and healthcare institutions.

Sorting Furniture introduced modern furniture solutions for homes, offices, hotels, educational institutions and commercial establishments, targeting Uganda’s rapidly expanding construction and hospitality sectors.

The delegation also featured companies specialising in industrial machinery, milling technologies, engineering systems, manufacturing equipment and food processing technologies, highlighting Türkiye’s diverse industrial base.

Expanding Business Opportunities

Ugandan entrepreneurs welcomed the opportunity to engage directly with Turkish manufacturers, noting that such meetings eliminate intermediaries and create room for more competitive pricing, technology exchange and long-term business relationships.

The engagement is expected to pave the way for increased imports of quality Turkish products while opening possibilities for joint ventures and future investment projects in Uganda.

Looking Ahead

As Uganda continues to position itself as a regional investment and trade hub, initiatives such as the Türkiye Exporters Assembly trade mission demonstrate growing international confidence in the country’s private sector.

For Turkish exporters, Uganda offers access to a vibrant consumer market and the wider East African region. For Ugandan businesses, the delegation presents an opportunity to diversify supply chains, access internationally recognised products and establish mutually beneficial commercial partnerships.

With discussions initiated during the Kampala meetings expected to continue beyond the event, both countries stand to benefit from stronger trade ties built on investment, innovation and shared economic growth.
