Shock engulfed Ntungamo district western Uganda when Nelson Akanwandaho decided to kill his nephew for food.
Upon reaching Akandwanaho’s residence and peeping through the door, the horrified crowd witnessed the suspect violently resisting arrest.

The suspect was promptly escorted to Omungyenyi police post.
The police took swift action, registering the incident as a murder by cutting under CRB 66/2024 at CPS Ntungamo.
The Homicide team from CPS Ntungamo visited the crime scene, documenting evidence with the assistance of the Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO). Statements were recorded from witnesses, and the body was examined at the scene, awaiting a postmortem report (PF 48c).
Investigations have revealed that the suspect has a history of mental illness. Moreover, the chilling act took place while the deceased’s grandparents were away at church, leaving Ariiho Patrick alone at home.
