 Final Hours: From Masaka to Kampala

Ssekabiito, aged 42 and based in Ssembabule/Masaka, had left his home late the previous night to attend the wedding Mass of his friend Jude Kiganda at Lubaga Cathedral scheduled for 9 a.m. on June 27 . “He arrived at New Taxi Park around 5:40 a.m., saying he was heading to Lubaga for the wedding—and returning to Masaka afterwards. But 20 minutes later, I received a call that Ssekabiito had died” .

A boda boda rider then transported him to Lubaga Hospital alongside another man. However, one of the men fled the hospital grounds immediately after arrival .  Unanswered Questions & Institutional Response

This dark and abrupt end has left wider questions:

  • Why was Ssekabiito reported to have had an accident by first caller on his phone to the motorcycle guy who transported him from his residence to Masaka?

  • Who was the mysterious second man, and why did he flee?

  • Was foul play involved or was this a medical emergency?

Police confirmed a joint investigation between Masaka and Kampala authorities, including CCTV review, boda boda operator interviews, and awaiting post‑mortem results .
