Ministry Of Gender To Skill Disabled Teenagers

Girls With Varying Disabilities Getting Tailoring Skills

The Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development under its department of Disability and Elderly, starting April this year, will commence a programme of imparting different practical skills to varying disability teenagers who will meet requisite requirements to enroll at selected pilot Vocational Training and Rehabilitation Institutions.

The Department of Disability and Elderly Affairs under the Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development, invites applications from Youth with Disabilities (Boys and Girls) aged 16 years and above for Vocational Skills training courses in its Vocational Rehabilitation Training Institutions. The training takes 12 months starting in April 2022.

Qualifications:

Primary Seven and above but interested youth with disability who did not go to elementary school, will be allowed to enroll the training is hands on.
Application forms can be got from the District Community Development Offices (DCDOs) in the various Local Governments for free. Applications are received up to the end of March 2022 and classes begin on 04th April 2022.

Feeding, Tuition and accommodation are catered for by the Government of Uganda.

N.B: Application forms are to be returned to the institution of the applicant’s choice for assessment and issuance of admission letter.
