UgandaToday: President Museveni last evening appointed Lady Justice Aisha Naluzze Batala as the new Ombudsman.
On Monday, Museveni halted his Lango region campaign trail in order to attend to “pressing state duties” as reported by the NRM Secretary General Louis Twodwongo. The final decision of appointing Naluzze, could have been one, among the many issues the president had to deal with.
Lady Justice Naluzze Batala , prior to her appointment as Justice of the High Court in 2023, she had worked as a prosecutor in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) for 18 years.
The hot news of appointing Naluzze as the new IGG was first broken by the deputy Secretary of the president Faruk Kirunda on his X account. Kirunda added that the two deputy IGGs, Dr. Patricia Achan Ochiria and Anne Twinomugisha Muhairwe remained holders of that position of deputy IGG.
Lady Justice Naluzze holds a master’s degree in management studies from Uganda Management Institute Kampala. Her working career is traced from her practice as a legal assistant at F. Mukasa & Co. Advocates in Kampala.
