UgandaToday: Kyagulanyi Nominated Paving Way For A Replica of 2021 Between Him And Museveni
At the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) site headquarters at Lwe Ssaabagabo Makindye, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu followed, Yoweri Museveni of National Resistance Movement Organisation (NRMO), Nathan Nandala Mafabi of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), Elton Joseph Mabirizi of Conservative Party (CP) and Robert Kasibante of National Peasants Party (NPP) who were nominated yesterday October 23, 2023. At 14:17pm Justice Simon Byabakama Mugenyi declared Kyagulanyi duly nominated.
Others who followed suit to make a total number of 8 presidential candidates out of the 220 who collected nomination forms from IEC are Gregory Mugisha Muntu of Alliance for National National Transformation (ANT), Frank Bulira Kabinga of Revolutionary Political Party (RPP), and Mubarak Munyagwa of Common Man’s Party (CMP).

Kyagulanyi had booked for his nomination yesterday on the same day when Yoweri Museveni was due for nomination but because of reasons that weren’t explained, IEC moved his nomination for today. After successful nomination, Kyagulanyi addressed a mammoth rally at nateete where he warned and appealed to Museveni to respect the people’s will and let them vote without interference of the army and police.
According to IEC official road map, all presidential candidates will start canvassing for votes from September 29, 2025.
