Disturbing Discovery

According to initial security reports, information was received in the early hours of February 11, 2026, indicating that Pamela Tumwebaze, a 46-year-old resident of Mukono, had been attacked and killed during the night. Authorities say the fatal incident is believed to have occurred at approximately 0200 hours.

Investigators established that an unknown assailant gained entry into her residence and allegedly strangled her. She was rushed to Mukono Namirembe Hospital, where medical personnel pronounced her dead.

At the time, the household also included a 20-year-old housemaid. Investigators believe the assailant may have exploited a brief window when the gate and house were opened to allow the family entry.

Security sources further revealed that after the attack, the suspect allegedly compelled the housemaid to surrender keys to the main door before fleeing with a laptop bag containing unspecified items, as well as the deceased’s mobile phone.

Breakthrough in Investigations

In a statement released on February 14, 2026, security spokesperson Rachel K. Kawala confirmed a significant breakthrough in the case.

Authorities announced the arrest of Taewaiko Dak Hussein, identified as a key suspect in the murder. He was apprehended at a hideout in Budaka District, where he was reportedly found in possession of property belonging to the deceased — a development investigators describe as critical evidence.
