The Ugandan community in Sacramento, California, gathered on Saturday, December 7, 2024, for an event filled with cultural pride, leadership transition, and Christmas joy. Held at the Sierra Vista Community Church, the celebration combined the Annual Inauguration, Cultural Day, and Kids’ Christmas Show under the theme “Joyful Traditions – A Fusion of Celebrating our Ugandan Heritage and Christmas Cheer.”

Honoring Culture and Community

The event opened with a vibrant Meet and Greet session, fostering connections among attendees. By 3:30 PM, the formal program commenced, led by the charismatic MC, Moses Njuki. Rev. William Kasirye’s heartfelt opening prayer and the dual renditions of the Ugandan and American national anthems set the stage for the day’s activities.

Two distinguished speakers delivered compelling messages to the community:
