Uganda’s Billionaires who became rich through primitive accumulation of wealth. Primitive accumulation is robbery of a country’s wealth either by virtue of being in power or close to power. It is corruption. If the President pursues his amnesty idea for the corrupt it will cover virtually all Uganda’s billionaires who never worked to become wealthy but just robbed the country’s wealth. Unfortunately amnesty does not fight corruption. It massages corruption and spurs it on. It is not an innovative idea in the struggle for freedom from corruption and democratic access to the country’s collective resources. It encourages robbery to continue. It undermines the struggle for Freedom and Democracy that President Tibuhaburwa Museveni wrote about in his book “Sowing the Mustard Seed: The Struggle for Freedom and Democracy in Uganda”. Ultimately Corruption undermines freedom and democracy and wrecks the democratization process in Uganda.
