Kampala– Following the incarceration of Kizza Besigye and his friend Obeid Lutale in Luzira maximum prison, and the subsequent sentence of 9 months imprisonment of one of his lawyers Eron Kiiza by Makindye Military Court Martial, Agather Atuhaire a renowned human rights activist together with 7 others mostly young women led a demonstration at the High Court in Kampala against impunity, ”chanting civilians are not soldiers, civilians shouldn’t be tried in court martial, free Eron Kiiza, free Besigye, Free Obeid Lutale”
Police at the High court arrested Agather and one of the male demonstrators and immediately took them to Kampala central police station. A contingent of anti riot police swung into action to pursue the fleeing other demonstrators who ran away in the direction of Lumumba avenue.
