UgandaToday: A Nation Mourns the Loss of SP Agwang Christine, A Dedicated Protector of Children and Families
Uganda has lost one of its most compassionate and selfless officers following the passing of Superintendent of Police (SP) Agwang Christine, a woman whose life and career were defined by unwavering dedication, quiet courage, and an unbreakable commitment to protecting the vulnerable.
SP Agwang Christine, who was steadily nearing her retirement, served at Kampala Metropolitan Police South (KMP South) as the Regional head of the Child and Family Protection Unit (CFPU)—a role that demands both patience and an enormous heart. In this capacity, she stood at the frontline of defending children’s rights, supporting survivors of domestic and gender-based violence, mediating family disputes, and restoring peace where it had been broken.
A Life of Service, Even Under Illness
Those who worked closely with her describe her as “a true definition of devotion.” Even when she was unwell, SP Agwang Christine still reported for duty, refusing to allow her own discomfort to overshadow her responsibility to the people she served. Her colleagues say this selflessness was not occasional—it was who she was.
She served with heart. She served with sacrifice. She served with a rare sense of duty that inspired all who knew her.
A Legacy Rooted in Peace and Protection
Throughout her long, admirable policing career, SP Agwang remained passionate about building safer homes and strengthening families. She believed deeply in unity, peace, and harmony within households, and she committed her professional life to nurturing these values.
Her work touched countless lives—children who needed protection, women seeking refuge from violence, and families desperate for reconciliation. As the proverb says, “A good tree is known by its fruit,” and her fruits are reflected in the thousands of lives she restored, protected, and inspired.
An Irreplaceable Loss
Her passing is a painful blow not only to her family and friends but to the entire Uganda Police Force, particularly the KMP South community where she served with distinction. Uganda mourns the loss of a woman whose heart beat for justice, compassion, and service.
Though she is gone, her courage and her legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those she served and those she worked alongside.
A Message of Condolence
One of the heartfelt messages shared after her passing came from Nabuzale Babra, popularly known as Lady Juicy, who wrote:
“RIP SP Agwang Christine. May God strengthen her family, friends, KMP South where she was attached, the entire police, and everyone—until we shall meet again.”
The nation bows its head in grief, but also in gratitude—for a life lived with honor, and for a woman who served Uganda with rare devotion. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
